Getting Clear Answers Before You Call
We hear a lot of the same questions from customers across Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. How does the process work? Is towing really free? What happens to the vehicle after pickup? Can you take a car that has not moved in years?
This page is here to answer those questions honestly and clearly. If you cannot find what you are looking for here, call us directly at +1 (236) 500-9818 and we will walk you through anything you need to know. We serve customers throughout the surrounding region — and the process is the same wherever you are.
Scrap Car Removal
Everything you need to know about the basic removal process, timelines, and vehicle requirements.
How does scrap car removal work?
The process is straightforward from start to finish. You call us and give us basic details about your vehicle — make, model, year, and a brief description of its current condition. We give you a cash offer right away based on that information.
If the offer works for you, we schedule a pickup time. Our driver arrives at your property with a tow truck, handles the ownership transfer paperwork with you, loads the vehicle, and pays you cash before leaving. The on-site portion typically takes fifteen to thirty minutes. You do not need to drop the vehicle off anywhere or arrange your own transport.
Do you offer free towing?
Yes, always. Free towing is included with every pickup throughout our entire service area. This is not a promotional offer or something that applies only to certain vehicle types — it is a standard part of every removal we do.
There are no fuel surcharges, no distance fees, and nothing deducted from your cash offer when we arrive. The number we give you over the phone is the amount you receive in person.
How quickly can my vehicle be picked up?
In most areas across Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, same-day pickup is available. Customers who call in the morning often have their vehicle removed the same afternoon.
For locations further out — including Whistler, Squamish, and Bowen Island — we schedule pickups as efficiently as routing and logistics allow, and we are always upfront about realistic timing. We will never overpromise on arrival windows just to secure a booking.
What types of vehicles do you accept?
We accept all types of vehicles including passenger cars, trucks, SUVs, crossovers, vans, and minivans. We also remove motorcycles and scooters, and we handle larger equipment including forklifts, farm machinery, and industrial equipment through our machinery removal service.
Make, model, and year are factors in pricing but are never reasons to decline a pickup.
Can you remove a non-running vehicle?
Yes, without exception. Non-running vehicles are one of the most common types of removals we handle. We bring a tow truck on every job regardless of whether the vehicle starts or can be driven, so a car that has not moved in years is handled the same way as any other removal.
If the vehicle is in a particularly difficult location — stuck in soft ground, positioned in a tight space, or partially buried — let us know when you call and we will come prepared with the right equipment.
Do you accept vehicles with missing parts or major damage?
Yes. A vehicle missing an engine, a transmission, doors, or other components still has value in its remaining metal and any recoverable materials. Major damage — whether from accidents, fire, flooding, or general deterioration — does not disqualify a vehicle from removal or from receiving a cash offer. We assess each vehicle based on what it is right now and make an honest offer accordingly.
What if the vehicle is in a difficult location on my property?
Difficult access is something we deal with regularly, particularly on properties in North Vancouver, Maple Ridge, Squamish, Bowen Island, and other areas where terrain or property layout can make access challenging.
When you call, mention any specific access considerations — steep driveways, narrow paths, soft ground, low clearance — and we will plan accordingly. We have handled extractions from a wide variety of challenging property situations and will give you an honest assessment of what is possible before scheduling the pickup.
Cash for Cars
Understanding valuations, market prices, and how you get paid for your vehicle.
How much can I get for my vehicle?
The value of a scrap vehicle depends on several factors: the make, model, and year of the vehicle, its overall condition, its weight and metal content, and current scrap metal market pricing.
As a general range, most passenger vehicles bring between $100 and $800, while larger trucks and SUVs with more metal content can fetch $500 to $1,200 or more. Vehicles with recoverable parts in good condition may receive higher offers. The best way to get an accurate figure is to call us — we give real quotes in minutes based on the specific details of your vehicle.
What affects the value of my scrap car?
Several things factor into the offer. Vehicle size and weight have a significant impact because metal content is a primary driver of scrap value — a full-size truck will generally bring more than a compact sedan. Current scrap metal market prices fluctuate and affect baseline values across all vehicle types.
The condition of the vehicle matters as well, particularly whether there are working or salvageable components that have value beyond the base metal. Age affects value indirectly — older vehicles may have less recyclable material but certain vintage components can carry their own salvage value. We factor all of this into a fair and transparent offer.
When do I get paid?
You are paid in cash at the time of pickup, before the vehicle is loaded onto the truck. We do not send payment by e-transfer the following business day, we do not issue cheques, and there is no waiting period. The driver arrives with the agreed amount and you receive it in full before the vehicle leaves your property.
Do you buy damaged vehicles?
Yes. Collision-damaged vehicles, flood-damaged cars, fire-damaged vehicles, and insurance write-offs are all eligible for a cash offer.
Many customers who have gone through an insurance claim are left with a totalled vehicle after the payout and are not sure what to do with it. We deal with this situation regularly. A damaged vehicle still has significant value in its metal content and recoverable components — call us and find out what yours is actually worth before writing it off entirely.
Do you buy old cars that are no longer insured or registered?
Yes. Insurance and registration status do not prevent us from making a cash offer and picking up a vehicle. What matters for the ownership transfer is that you are the registered owner and can sign over the registration.
If the registration has expired, that is a common situation we deal with regularly. If there are other complications around the registration status, call us before the pickup and we will walk you through what is needed.
Will you match or beat quotes from other buyers?
We offer competitive, market-rate pricing based on the genuine value of your vehicle. We encourage customers to get multiple quotes if they want to compare, but our offers are based on honest valuation and we stand behind them.
We do not inflate initial quotes to win business and then revise them at pickup — which is a practice some customers have unfortunately experienced elsewhere. What we quote is what we pay.
Documents & Ownership
Clear guidelines on paperwork, missing registrations, and legal transfers.
What documents are required to sell my scrap car?
In most cases, the only document required is the vehicle registration, which you sign over to transfer ownership. Our driver brings all additional paperwork needed for the transaction and walks you through it at the time of pickup. The entire paperwork process typically takes a few minutes. You do not need to prepare anything in advance or make any prior trips to ICBC.
Can you remove a vehicle if I cannot find the registration?
If the registration is missing or has been lost, call us and explain the situation before scheduling the pickup. Depending on the circumstances, a replacement registration can often be obtained through ICBC before the removal takes place.
In some cases, alternative documentation may satisfy the ownership transfer requirement. We deal with registration complications regularly and can guide you through the options specific to your situation.
Does the vehicle have to be registered in my name?
In most cases, yes — the registered owner needs to be present to sign over ownership. If the vehicle was inherited, if the owner is deceased, or if there are other circumstances where the registration is in someone else’s name, the requirements can vary.
Call us and explain the situation and we will advise you on what documentation is needed and how to proceed. Estate vehicles and inherited cars are situations we handle regularly.
What happens after I sign over the registration?
Once the ownership transfer is complete, the vehicle belongs to us. We handle all subsequent steps — transporting it to our processing facility, arranging the appropriate recycling and disposal, and ensuring all materials are handled responsibly. You have no further obligations related to the vehicle after the paperwork is signed and payment is made.
What if the vehicle has an outstanding lien on it?
If there is an outstanding finance lien on the vehicle, the situation needs to be clarified before the sale can proceed. In some cases, the lien can be resolved as part of the transaction. Call us and describe the situation — we will give you honest guidance on what is required and whether we can proceed with the pickup given the specific circumstances.
Service Areas
Information on where we travel, dispatch times, and remote area capabilities.
What areas do you serve?
We provide scrap car removal, cash for cars, and vehicle pickup services throughout Metro Vancouver, the Lower Mainland, the Fraser Valley, and the Sea-to-Sky corridor.
Our primary service areas include Vancouver, Surrey, Burnaby, Richmond, Langley, Delta, Maple Ridge, New Westminster, and North Vancouver. We also serve Whistler, Squamish, and Bowen Island. If your location is not on this list, call us — we cover more ground than most customers expect and can often reach areas not specifically listed.
Do you provide service outside of Vancouver?
Yes. While Vancouver is at the centre of our service area, the majority of our pickups take place across the wider Metro Vancouver region and beyond.
Surrey and Burnaby are among our busiest areas. We regularly serve customers in Langley, Delta, Maple Ridge, and New Westminster. Our service extends north to North Vancouver, Squamish, and Whistler, and we travel to Bowen Island to serve customers on the island. Distance within our service area does not affect the price we offer or the free towing we include.
Is same-day pickup available in all service areas?
Same-day pickup is available in most Metro Vancouver and Lower Mainland areas for standard vehicle removals. In the city and inner suburbs — Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, New Westminster — same-day service is very common.
In areas further out, such as Maple Ridge, the more rural parts of Langley, or North Delta, same-day service is available but may depend more on timing and scheduling. For Squamish, Whistler, and Bowen Island, we schedule pickups as quickly as routing allows and give you a realistic timeframe upfront rather than a promise we cannot keep.
Do you charge extra for service in remote or far areas?
No. Free towing and no hidden charges apply throughout our entire service area, including Whistler, Squamish, and Bowen Island. We factor travel logistics into our operations rather than passing costs on to customers. The cash offer we give you is what you receive regardless of where you are located within our coverage area.
Vehicle Recycling
Learn about our eco-friendly disposal process and environmental standards.
What happens to scrap vehicles after pickup?
Every vehicle we collect goes through a structured end-of-life process. The first step is fluid extraction — engine oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, coolant, power steering fluid, and air conditioning refrigerants are all drained and collected using proper containment equipment. These materials are hazardous and are disposed of through regulated channels that prevent environmental contamination.
Once fluids are removed, the vehicle is assessed for salvageable components. Parts with remaining useful life — engines, transmissions, electrical components, body panels — are catalogued and directed to salvage operations. The remaining metal structure is sent to certified recycling facilities.
Are vehicles recycled in an environmentally responsible way?
Yes. Responsible recycling is a core part of how we operate, not an afterthought. Every fluid is drained and handled safely before any further processing. Usable parts are recovered to extend their service life. Remaining metal goes to certified recyclers that process materials in compliance with environmental standards.
No vehicle we collect is simply dumped or left to deteriorate in an unmanaged facility. This matters particularly for customers in ecologically sensitive areas like Bowen Island and Squamish, where environmental responsibility is taken seriously by the community.
What parts of the vehicle can be reused or recycled?
The metal content of a vehicle — predominantly steel, with varying amounts of aluminum, copper, and other metals depending on the make and model — is recyclable and forms the basis of scrap value.
Beyond raw metal, many mechanical and electrical components have remaining useful life: engines that can be rebuilt, transmissions that can be reconditioned, alternators, starters, catalytic converters, wheels, tires with tread remaining, and body panels without significant damage are all recoverable. Salvaged parts reduce the demand for newly manufactured replacements and keep functional materials in active use — both economically and environmentally beneficial outcomes.
Does eco-friendly vehicle disposal cost extra?
No. Responsible recycling is simply how we handle every vehicle we collect. There is no premium charge for proper fluid disposal or for directing materials to certified recyclers. It is the standard, not an upgrade.
